If you have a positive PPD or a positive Quantiferon Gold Plus test, you have TB. However, if your chest X-ray is clear, you have LATENT (non-infectious) tuberculosis. About 1/3 of the world has latent TB. Your TB only has a 10% chance of being reactivated over your lifetime. This may happen if you become immunocompromised, or with age. If you choose (or are advised) to take medication to remove the TB from your body, your doctor will prescribe the medication based on your age, and state of health.
